Is That It???

You have to love it when the first thing out of your children's mouths when the turn the corner to see what Santa brought them is....."Is that it?" At least when they were done opening their presents they did say thank you to Santa for giving them presents.

WE DID IT!!!!!!

On Saturday my Procast soccer team took 1st place!!!! Our team made it to the top four out of twenty teams. The season was so fun and totally crazy. I think I take after my mom when it comes to “cheering” my team on. All the teams pretty much knew me as the “Gringa” who screams all the time. I don’t think I was prepared for the drama that came with coaching a men’s soccer team. They fought with each other more than any girls I have ever seen. The hard part was that I had no idea what they were saying. I could only recognize some swear words every now and then. The only thing that matters is that they pulled together this Saturday for a double header. Our first game was at 11:00 and believe me that is early for the guys. I have to be pretty proud that they show up even though they are still nursing a hangover. The first team we were playing is a team we have struggled with all season and I was extremely nervous. The other team scored early in the first half and my guys took it pretty hard, but they played their best game ever. I was trying to remain calm and positive throughout the game but it wasn’t looking good. With two minutes left in the second half we scored a goal to put us in a tie. We all went crazy. We went straight into penalties (which I hate). I picked the five that I felt most confident in. We shot first and made it. They made their first shot but missed their second and third. We never missed one. We were in the play offs playing for first or second! Our final game was at 5:30 that night. I told everyone to go home, sleep and eat some pasta. I’m pretty sure they went home sat on their couches and drank beer. Our final game started late and we were playing a team that we have always won so I was a little nervous that my team was going to get over confident. We scored a quick first and second goal in the first half, but they answered back with a goal in the second. I was freaking out. They only needed to score one goal and we would tie. With ten minutes left we scored our third to clench the first place position. I can’t say enough how proud I am of the team. I had so much fun and can’t wait for next season.

Miss Hollywood

OK, I totally need to brag about my little sister Chalis. In 2005 she graduated from California State University of Fullerton w/a B.A. in Radio, Television & Film - Magna Cum Laude. She is going to be a producer. On her way up the Hollywood ladder she has worked on the following shows:
American Idol Season 7
Next Great American Band
Kitchen Nightmares Season 1
Producer's Guild Awards
American Music Awards
Family TV Awards
New Year's Rockin' Eve
America's Got Talent - Los Angeles Auditions
A Home For the Holidays
Celebrity Duets
She is currently working on NCIS. She started last year for season 5 and was asked to come back for season 6. I told her I am totally all about exploiting my kids but so far she hasn’t delivered. She is hoping to get into a directors program. She probably will because she is a genius at what she does. So in the future when you watch TV show or a movie make sure you watch the credit for Chalis Romero. I hope my kids get the same smart gene Chalis got! She's AMAZING!!!!

Memories

I saw this on a friends blog and thought how fun so let's try it and see what happens. Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Good or bad but be nice.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

You can lease a post even if you don't have an account!

First Camping Trip

Two weekends ago Jarrod took the girls camping for the very first time. They had a wonderful time. They went out on a raft, looked for wild flowers, had hot chocolate, and got very, very dirty! It was a very good thing that their mom was not there because I probably would have been wiping them down the entire time. When they got home I could barely recognized them under all the dirt. They can’t wait to go again.

First Day of School

Today was Jais and Dre'a’s first day of school. Jais started the first grade and Dre'a started Pre-K 3. We met the teacher last Thursday and Dre'a was very upset that she couldn’t stay. That made us feel very at ease considering this is our “baby” and she is starting something new. So while we were getting them ready this morning there were no butterflies in my stomach. I new they were both very excited and love where they were going. We dropped Dre'a off first and Jais showed her the ropes (she thinks she is the pro now that she is in the first grade). All was fine until we went to say good bye then all of the sudden Dre'a had the look of “where the hell do you think you are going?” She just looked at us and waved. Then it was off to Jais’s class. She just said good bye and ran in. I did pretty well until I got in the car and called my mom. As soon as I started to tell her about Dre'a I lost it. I new she would be fine, it was just seeing that face that killed me. I made Jarrod promise that he would wait for me to pick them up and I think it took me forever to get there. We got Jais first and when we saw Dre'a she looked at us like “what the hell do you want? I’m busy!” Yep, that’s my Dre'a. Dre'a informed us on the way to the car that her day was good because she didn’t hit anyone or spit on anyone. So I guess they both had a very good first day.

A day at the lake with dad.

On Friday Jarrod had taken the day off and decided to take the girls to Silver Lake. The girls love the mountains and are always asking if they can go. Sometime we cheat and just take them to Cabelas. They were very excited to tell me all about it when I got home. They had wonderful stories of how the chipmunks ate their toes, the fish were swimming right by them , and how they got to eat their lunch on a pick-nick table. They get to go camping with Jarrod and his family this weekend so they are counting down the days.

Good Luck Taisja and Brady!

I need to give a big thanks to my cousin Taisja. She has left me alone at work and has moved to California. Taisja and her husband Brady have said goodbye to Utah and hello to San Francisco. Taisja has gone to study fashion design and Brady is off to learn how to straighten people's teeth. Work is going to be very lonely and I am actually going to have to do some work now. Who am I going to gossip with at work? So Good Luck Taisja and Brady!!!

Not 16 anymore!

A week ago today I was at soccer practice and decided that I should show them how brilliant I am at soccer. At the end of practice we had a scrimmage and we were one player short. So it didn’t take much asking for me to join in. I did really well. I had scored two goals and was pretty confident that I had impressed my team. So all of the sudden here comes a pass straight for me and I do some fancy foot work and when I go to turn my foot stays in one place an my leg goes in another. When I look down my foot is literally dangling from my leg. So I hurry and step down and pop it back into place. There was a lot of popping and grinding. I went to start running and went straight for the ground. My first instinct was to puke but I was surrounded by ten guys. So I just sat on the grass and told them to give me a minute. Well, when I wasn’t getting up they started to come over to check on me. Granted there is a huge language barrier between us but by the look on their faces and the tone of their voices it wasn’t looking good for my ankle. I finally let my self lay on my back so that I didn’t pass out when one of them decided to grab my foot and hold it up. I thought that was nice that he was trying to elevate it for me so I could relax. Next thing you know he is yanking the s*@t out of my foot and ankle. I start telling him to stop (Still trying to remain calm and impress the guys). Then all of them start pushing on my ankle and saying Murado (purple in Spanish). Yes. Thank you guys I know, I know it is purple. I asked one of them to go and get some ice to put on my ankle. What seemed like 10 minutes later he came back with the ice. They start telling me that I need to go home boil some water, put salt in the water , stick my foot in it and cover it with a towel. I’m sure I had a puzzled look on my face because one of the guys was shaking his head and mouthing the words “just use ice”. I manage to get to my car and they chose our youngest team member who is 17 to drive me home. On the drive home he proceeded to tell me that his dad doesn’t really trust him to drive. So there I am with an incompetent driver and an ankle that now has a purple tennis ball on it. I get home, Jarrod comes out to get me (I’m still being brave) and helps me into the house. As soon as the front door closes I start screaming and crying. Now I get to wear a lovely brace for three weeks and I have an ugly foot. I normally have pretty cute feet. My right foot is now the size of two feet.

Swollen ugly foot!!!!

A shout out to the OC!!

I have put up some pictures of my nephew and niece. Bergen is five and Ella is nine months. My older sister Mya her husband Matt and there two kids live in Aliso Viejo, CA. To give you a better idea of where that is it is about 30 minutes away from Disneyland. So really the only reason I go to visit is because they live so close to the Happiest Place on Earth. For awhile I was the only one in our family that had girls. Mya and our cousins all had boys. So I was so glad that when Mya was pregnant she found out that she was going to have our “little” Ella Bella. I was not glad because of her being a girl. I was glad that Mya was in for some HELL by having a girl. You get the whole DRAMA of it all. There is drama in doing hair. Just to get them to sit still long enough to spray their hair with water is a challenge. Once you spray their hair with the water they literally melt off the chair. So you have to put them back on the chair. Then you try and run a brush through their hair and you find either some creature has been living in their hair because it became entangled in something sticky or there are all kinds of food products in their hair. Once you have their hair all nice and smooth ready for the hair accessory they decided to go crazy and freak out by pulling their hair out of your hands. So you have to start all over with the water. After a couple on bonks on the head with the comb (a technique shown to me as a child by my mom and aunts) you are again ready for the second attempt for the hair accessory. You grab the color of the ball that matches the outfit and you need to get three full rotations so the hair stays in place. Well the ball is only going to give you two and a half rotations. Does that stop you? Hell no! You are going to get three rotations even if it is going to cause your childs hair to come out of her scalp. I call for reinforcements. JARROD!!!!! As I hold the pony tail he gets the ball to lock into place. I walk around to the front of my daughter and discover that I have a child who eyes are now just little slits on her face. I reassure her in loving words ,“Your Fine!” Then there are shoe issues. Dréa always wants to wear my shoes every where she goes. Clothes issues or lack there of. Dress ups are the clothes of choice. They are ok sometimes but I have a hard time walking into stores with them dressed like that. So now I have Mya to share the drama with. My fingers are crossed that Ella turns out to be just like my Dréa!

Wow Mya, you finaly did her hair.Pee Pa intruducing Ella to his favorite pass time with his grandkids. Naps!

Check out the new tooth.

Ah, the days of wearing a bikini and rolls are concidered cute!!

Why does Ella get a hat and not Bergen?

Taisja found this amazing link that is perfect for my blog. It was like it was made just for me. It is a simple but silly quiz. Take time to see who you are most like. Taisja is like Ariel, which is great because that is her favorite movie and it is the movie that reminds me of her. Cinderella is in my top two. Sleeping Beauty is my other fav. Make sure you let me know who you are. Just post it on the comments. Good Luck!

Parade Time!!!

Jais and Dréa were in their first parade on Saturday. They were in the Herriman Parade with their dance company, Dance Explosion. They were very excited and Jarrod and I were nervous to see how they would handle being on the trailer with everyone and not being able to see us. Yeah, they couldn’t have cared less that we weren’t there. They were more towards the end of the parade so Jarrod, my dad and I collected a lot of candy. It was for the girls of course. Some great, wonderful and smart person thought up the idea of throwing Otter Pops. We each ate like five Otter Pops while we were waiting for the girls to come by. That was the perfect treat considering it was 9:30 in the morning and 95 degrees. Finally the girls came by and I ran out on the street to get their attention. They were so excited to see us. They were all smiles and waves. They did perfect. I was so proud!! And if you check out their hair I did it myself. Pretty dang good if you ask me. They are going to be in the Riverton Parade on Thursday. They are going to be pros by then. Everyone have a fun and safe 4th of July!!

What's in a name?

I think I might need to explain the reason “Just Another Disney Princess” has been chosen for the name of my blog. I was thinking of just using our last name, Mudrock, but it had already been used (probably for a construction company of some kind). So I did a name that involves a passion of mine. I am a Disneyland Freak. No I don’t dress in Disney stuff or decorate my house in it, but I LOVE Disneyland itself. I always say my dream job is to work at Disneyland. It could be anywhere from working at a ride to actually being a Disney princess. I don’t want to sweep up garbage though. Everyone at Disneyland gets to wear a costume! I went there for my high school graduation and my honeymoon. The great thing is Jarrod loves going just as much as I do. And hello, I have two girls that I can dress up like princesses!!! It truly is the Happiest Place on Earth. It is somewhere you can go and just have fun. There is not another place I would go and spend $5 on a churro. I love how it smells waiting in line and the “places” the rides take you. I also love the looks on ALL the kids’ faces (young and old). There are many places in this world to visit, and I still hope to, but Disneyland will always be my happy place. Hopefully that gives you a little idea of why I named my blog this. After all who doesn't want to ba a princess?

Clueless on what to do!!

Hi Everyone, it looks like I am now in the blog world. I didn't even know these existed until I started working at my dad's and uncle's company (Procast Marble) with my cousin Taisja. She is the one who created this whole blog so thank you Taisja. I am hesitant to post on it because lets just say spelling and grammar are not my strong points. But hey who cares. Well I hope to have more to write about later. Everyone take care and thanks for taking the time to visit.
