A shout out to the OC!!

I have put up some pictures of my nephew and niece. Bergen is five and Ella is nine months. My older sister Mya her husband Matt and there two kids live in Aliso Viejo, CA. To give you a better idea of where that is it is about 30 minutes away from Disneyland. So really the only reason I go to visit is because they live so close to the Happiest Place on Earth. For awhile I was the only one in our family that had girls. Mya and our cousins all had boys. So I was so glad that when Mya was pregnant she found out that she was going to have our “little” Ella Bella. I was not glad because of her being a girl. I was glad that Mya was in for some HELL by having a girl. You get the whole DRAMA of it all. There is drama in doing hair. Just to get them to sit still long enough to spray their hair with water is a challenge. Once you spray their hair with the water they literally melt off the chair. So you have to put them back on the chair. Then you try and run a brush through their hair and you find either some creature has been living in their hair because it became entangled in something sticky or there are all kinds of food products in their hair. Once you have their hair all nice and smooth ready for the hair accessory they decided to go crazy and freak out by pulling their hair out of your hands. So you have to start all over with the water. After a couple on bonks on the head with the comb (a technique shown to me as a child by my mom and aunts) you are again ready for the second attempt for the hair accessory. You grab the color of the ball that matches the outfit and you need to get three full rotations so the hair stays in place. Well the ball is only going to give you two and a half rotations. Does that stop you? Hell no! You are going to get three rotations even if it is going to cause your childs hair to come out of her scalp. I call for reinforcements. JARROD!!!!! As I hold the pony tail he gets the ball to lock into place. I walk around to the front of my daughter and discover that I have a child who eyes are now just little slits on her face. I reassure her in loving words ,“Your Fine!” Then there are shoe issues. Dréa always wants to wear my shoes every where she goes. Clothes issues or lack there of. Dress ups are the clothes of choice. They are ok sometimes but I have a hard time walking into stores with them dressed like that. So now I have Mya to share the drama with. My fingers are crossed that Ella turns out to be just like my Dréa!

I can't believe how big Mya's kid's have gotten, how cute are they. I bet it's hard to have them live so far away though, I would be a mess.
