Happy Birthday Jais!!!!

Jais is 7 years old today.  When she woke up this morning she said she felt seven.  She had her birthday party Sunday at Boondocks.  That place is crazy!!!!  Luckily the weather was beautiful so everyone got to ride the rides outside.  The guest ages went from 3 to 55 and let me tell you EVERYONE had a great time.  The adults were just as excited as the kids when it came to riding the Go-Carts.  There weren’t many people there so the lines were short if there was a line at all.  Jais is turning into such a "girl".  She isn't little anymore.  She didn't want to hang out with her parents.  She just wanted to run around and play with her friends.  I am both happy and sad about it.  Happy that she is growing up and sad that I am considered boring and she is only seven.   Crap, I thought I had a few years before I was considered lame.  Jais has been a very easy little girl.  She listens and actually cares if she gets in trouble.  Dre'a couldn't care less.  Jais has got to be the best big sister ever.  She is very patient with Dre'a.  She tries to teach her things, she reads to her, sings to her and plays a game that they call "Sister" even when Jais doesn't want to.  Jais is VERY dramatic but very affectionate to.  She was the first grandchild born on both sides of the family and the first girl born on both sides of the extended family.  Believe me she is all girl.  I tried to put her in soccer when she was little and all she did was pick flowers.  She begged me to put her in dance and I finally did.  She loved it.  I am hoping she grows out of the cheerleading and dance phase.  She is absolutely a wonderful little girl and I love her so much.  Have a wonderful birthday Jais.  I love you!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Dre'a!!!!!

Today my “baby” Dréa turns 4.  She definitely keeps me on my toes.  She is very strong willed and knows what she wants.  I love that about her but man is it hard sometimes.  For her birthday breakfast she wanted to go to IHOP.  She really would go anywhere that served hot chocolate with lots of whipping cream.  She doesn’t even drink the hot chocolate.  She was looking forward to taking the cookies she picked out to her class today.  She wanted everyone to know it was her birthday (I wonder where she gets that from….hhmmm?)  She gets to have a birthday party on Saturday and she can hardly wait.  She might be a little disappointed though because she is expecting Troy Bolton aka Zach Efron to be there.  They are getting married by the way.  She has never really had a birthday party with friends.  All of her parties have been with family so this is a big deal.  On her birthday list she requested a chicken.  I have asked everyone NOT to get her one.  What am I going to do with a chicken?  Her other big wish is for make-up.  The weird thing is that the make-up always seems to disappear!!!!!!  I just don’t understand why.  Dréa is so fun and sweet.  Her personality is one I hope she keeps forever.  I love her so much and I hope she has a wonderful day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This morning when the girls woke up I surprised then with new shirts for St. Patrick’s Day.  They were both so excited.  As they were getting dressed Jais asked where her green pants were.  I told her that she wouldn’t get pinched because her shirt was green.  OH NO!!!!!  That was not going to be OK.  If she doesn’t have green pants on then the Leprechauns can pinch her on her legs.  After a very long “discussion” that wearing a green shirt is good enough she finally decided it was OK to go to school.  Who knew St. Patrick’s Day was such a hard day to dress for?  One more thought, I feel bad for the person who actually tries to pinch Dre'a.  They are taking their lives into their own hands.  After that it is every man for himself!!!!

Is That It???

You have to love it when the first thing out of your children's mouths when the turn the corner to see what Santa brought them is....."Is that it?" At least when they were done opening their presents they did say thank you to Santa for giving them presents.

WE DID IT!!!!!!

On Saturday my Procast soccer team took 1st place!!!! Our team made it to the top four out of twenty teams. The season was so fun and totally crazy. I think I take after my mom when it comes to “cheering” my team on. All the teams pretty much knew me as the “Gringa” who screams all the time. I don’t think I was prepared for the drama that came with coaching a men’s soccer team. They fought with each other more than any girls I have ever seen. The hard part was that I had no idea what they were saying. I could only recognize some swear words every now and then. The only thing that matters is that they pulled together this Saturday for a double header. Our first game was at 11:00 and believe me that is early for the guys. I have to be pretty proud that they show up even though they are still nursing a hangover. The first team we were playing is a team we have struggled with all season and I was extremely nervous. The other team scored early in the first half and my guys took it pretty hard, but they played their best game ever. I was trying to remain calm and positive throughout the game but it wasn’t looking good. With two minutes left in the second half we scored a goal to put us in a tie. We all went crazy. We went straight into penalties (which I hate). I picked the five that I felt most confident in. We shot first and made it. They made their first shot but missed their second and third. We never missed one. We were in the play offs playing for first or second! Our final game was at 5:30 that night. I told everyone to go home, sleep and eat some pasta. I’m pretty sure they went home sat on their couches and drank beer. Our final game started late and we were playing a team that we have always won so I was a little nervous that my team was going to get over confident. We scored a quick first and second goal in the first half, but they answered back with a goal in the second. I was freaking out. They only needed to score one goal and we would tie. With ten minutes left we scored our third to clench the first place position. I can’t say enough how proud I am of the team. I had so much fun and can’t wait for next season.
